Eau de Toilette Cristalle was created in 1974, created by Henri Robert as a toilet water for young girls. It was introduced to the United States in 1977.
It was originally available in the following:

Fragrance Composition:
It is classified as a crisp floral chypre fragrance for women.Cristalle derives its zesty top note from bergamot and Sicilian lemon. Clear, light floral middle notes of honeysuckle from Provence and jasmine mingle with warmer rosewood, vetiver and cool Yugoslavian oakmoss to add a haunting quality that lasts but never cloys.

Eau de Toilette:
- Top notes: basil, petitgrain, bergamot, peach, Sicilian lemon, galbanum
- Middle notes: ylang, ylang, jasmine, hyacinth, jonquil and Provencal honeysuckle
- Base notes: Bourbon vetiver, musk, vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli, amber, Yugoslavian oakmoss and rosewood
In 1993, the Eau de Parfum, created by Jacques Polge was introduced.
Eau de Parfum:
- Top notes: aldehydes, basil, petitgrain, peach, melon, mandarin, peach, Sicilian lemon, galbanum
- Middle notes: hyacinth, cumin, hyacinth, Indian jasmine, ylang ylang, jonquil and honeysuckle
- Base notes: musk, vanilla, amber, sandalwood, patchouli, civet, vetiver, oakmoss and rosewood
In 1995 the Voile Parfume was introduced. It was discontinued 1999.
To open the classic Chanel crystal parfum flacon, use the following tip provided by Parfums Chanel in 1963:
Remove cord and paper; with index finger as cushion, tap underneath sides of stopper lightly with glass object (glass on glass being the scientific method) while turning the bottle steadily between fingers, so that the stopper will be loosened evenly.
